“No. Serve che scendi domani.”

“Ah.”

State attenti.

Buona domenica a tutti, e ricordate...

“You need to come over.“

“Well of course, maybe I’ll come a couple days for the shooting.”

“No. You need to come tomorrow.”

“Oh.”

And so, needless to say, after a flash train booking, here I am after work travelling towards Rome for the shooting of my part in the Promo. The two overwhelming days’ schedule was as clear as back-breaking.

I get there in a rainy capital city at 11.00 p.m. and Umberto gets me. The first stop-over is Daniela’s house for Production/Editorial Staff meeting. I’ve already told you about Daniela in the other day’s post, and I just wanted to say that her “nduja” bruschettas got in my top ten list of food which gives addiction. Beware.

Just the time for hugging and kissing when Skype’s calling music calls us back to attention. The meeting is a flux of brainstorming, a stream of consciousness of ideas, suggests, idiocy and proposals (some more or less possibile).

We finished at 2.06 a.m..

Satisfied (and tired) on the way back home I storm Umberto with questions about the next day’s shooting, photos, interview, lights, backstage and... and... we go to sleep at 4.43 in the morning.

Day after’s dawn.

At nine o’clock in the morning a rooster resembling Umberto’s smartphone reminds us we have an appointment with the hairdresser: just like a wannabe hollywoodian actor I get inside the barbershop with a very credible halo of hero worship. If only I hadn’t two bags under my eyes big as donuts misshaping my face. The girl of the appointments was looking for a shotgun in order to stop me by blowing up my head. I saw her, I swear.

Among all the difficulties of that splendid day, the hardest was doubtless try not to fall asleep while shampoo.

And so with brand new hair we are off to the interview location. A vigorous sun blessed us nonetheless the season and all seemed to promise very memorable outer shooting. Everything but the wind. The wind and the dogs. The wind, the dogs and the fountains. The wind, the dogs, the fountains and the pedestrians.

At 2 o’clock we withdraw and give up to shoot the interviews in the inside.

Have you got in mind when in Paperissima (well known italian tv-show about tv gaffes) they show tv showgirls who can’t put up two words without faltering, or making mistakes with conjugations and verb tenses?
Of course you got the picture. I can see you there lying on the sofa rolling on the floor for laughing and shouting “Oh my, what a jerk, one’s gotta be a scientist to utter sentences without blabbering!”.

I hate you.
You can’t imagine what those poor souls have to face! Well I can! It’s really hard! You start self-confident: “I got this!” you think deep down in you, and you’re wrong! Because in that moment when you’re thinking that it’s just when your voice decides to come out of you as it were transmitted through a party trumpet. Exactly like those you blow in and a tongue goes out. That’s it.

On the following fifteen attempts nothing goes better.

After long, tiring and exhilarating (eyes watering level) hours of interview, we got the material. Ordering japanese sounded like the best way to celebrate the mishimi devotion by which we endured untill that moment.

Filled with raw fish we get back home and neither me or Umberto can win the temptation to watch the material again. Believe me, you will hear about it again and again.

We go to sleep 4.10 a.m.

At 9 o’clock, due to traffic block, Daniela wakes us up with the crunchy sound of two brioches packets, luring us out of beds like bees with smoke.

10.00 a.m.: teaser’s script review to scoop the location. Lunch time, accidentally after lunch nap, great sea crossing on Daniela’s car after Tiburtina, and at 7 p.m. I was on the train sending me back home.

Was I tired? Like seldom happened I was.
I lied awake all the way back: I had my nose sticked to the window, watching the capitol’s lights, then those of the countryside and eventually the great “hole” of darkness quickly passing by while I crossed Tuscany and Emilia. I was with my mind still at that table trying to figure out how to make this project possible, laughing at the impossible proposals, supporting each other about those other impossible yet doable ones. Because within all the group of people working on LARPers’ project there is a shared and strong will to do, to create, a desired born in passion, if I could l’ll let you know each one of them, welcoming you at that very table to share with us Daniela’s bruschettas: to let you feel this will and to taste, if you’d like, a bit of yours.

We are at the very beginning of something that nobody knows how it’s gonna end, yet personally it will give me an unforgettable memory. I’m looking forward to make the last step before the big rush, warm-up has ended. I suggest you to follow us, you won’t regret it.

Happy sunday to all, and remember...

To Protect and Play!
